My result

By Temidayo Jegede | 13 August 2007

Sorry I am only writing now the queues for the internet are always really long, anyway, I managed to get one today 'cos I got here early morning.

The village is really nice and settling in and training was not a problem, the food was good and the people are nice and helpful and the opening ceremony was amazing.

I fought Mexico and the fight finished 0-0 after 3 rounds. The fight then went to sudden death and the score remained the same. So the fight went to referee/judges decisions and they gave it to Mexico. Didn’t agree with the decision ‘cos I thought I dominated the fight in all four rounds as I had my opponent constantly on the back foot.

At the end of it all I am really disappointed with my result and it as put a dark cloud over the whole experience. Although I’ve been trying to make the most of my last few days it’s not really the same when you don’t get what you came for.

On the plus side, based on my performances I learnt a lot about my weaknesses and I look forward to getting back to training so that I can improve on them. I also did some things really well in the build up to the fight and during it and I aim to carry on doing them.
