first game

yesterday mens and womens football kicked off the competition. We played against mexico, who we thought would be a technically superior side, used to the heat and the humidity. Whilst the the second the third point were true the first seemed to be lacking, this could have been through our tactics or their deficiancy. The first half consisted of the mexicans having plenty of posession but a lack of cutting edge in the final third. They scored first through a deflected free-kick. 1-0 mexico first half. The second half was dominated by ourselves with the mexicans getting a couple of counter attacks. our dominance paid off and we scored through jan.Next was penalties to decide who would go through the group if both teams finished level on points. we won 5-4. Tomorrow will be our toughest group games against morocco.
until next time
